The first thing I will tell you after your facial is to not wear makeup right after the facial treatment. Makeup clogs the pores, after a very good cleansing and deep exfoliation, you do not want to pile it all back on straight away. Leave your skin to breathe and your pores to naturally contract.
You do not need to cleanse at home later on the same day after your facial but please remember to always cleanse, tone and moisturise your face both mornings and at the end of the day.
After the first 48 hours at home, please double cleanse to remove all traces of makeup at the end of the day followed by moisturising.
Avoid any further facial treatments up to 48 hours after your treatment as your skin will still be in repair mode. Over exfoliating your skin will cause the skin barrier to be compromised.
Avoid sunbeds and sunbathing for up to 48 hours after your facial.
Avoid heat treatments such as using a steam room sauna or submerging in a hot tub.
Avoid swimming up to 24 hours after your facial as chlorine will disturb your skin.
Please use SPF every single day after applying your serums and moisturiser, SPF and then makeup last.
Avoid using any active products without double checking with me to ensure that any products you use will not lead to leaving your skin sensitive.
Please avoid extractions yourself especially using extraction tools as extracting wrongly can lead to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Ask me how often you should have professional facials. Depending on skin needs everyone has different timeframes for needing a professional facial.
